Name:Alvin Louie Whitaker
Date of Birth:5/21/1947
Date of Passing:9/11/2005
County/Road of Fatal Collision:I-126

A wonderful person with a great sense of humor, Al really enjoyed life. He hosted family and friends around his grill or fish fryer and ensured all had a good time. No one ever left his house hungry.

He served his country for 20 years in the U.S. Navy, which took him and his family around the world. He and Jacqueline raised four beautiful daughters in love while adapting to many different environments and cultures each time they moved. They made lifelong friends where ever they went.

Upon retiring from the Navy in 1985, the family moved back to Pomaria where Al shared his dad's interest in raising cows and gardening. Becoming “best friends” he and his dad could most often be found together in some hay field or cow pasture.

He was totally devoted to his family and loved them dearly. He was a wonderful husband, father, son and brother. But his most cherished role was that of “Papa.” He dearly loved and was so very proud of his grandchildren.

We think of him daily and miss him so very much. Having been born anew in Christ three weeks before his death, we are confident he is in God's loving arms and we will see that dear smile again.
