Revelations 21:4 – “There will be no more crying or pain. Things are no longer the way they used to be.”

John Ray Fisher was a vibrant young man. A senior at Timberland High School, John Ray had his whole life ahead of him. His thoughts during the summer months before his senior year were to join the military. His intention was to go on the “buddy system” with his cousin Ryan. However, John Ray’s life was cut short as a result of a single car crash on Hoodtown Road in Berkeley County. John Ray did not achieve his dream. It is my intention though as his aunt to make sure his memory lives on forever!

John Ray had such a great personality. One of his favorite sayings was, “How do you like me now!” He loved to smile. His smile would light up the darkest room. His laugh was contagious and has carried over to my son to this day.

John Ray loved the Carolina Gamecocks and Ohio State Buckeyes. He also enjoyed hunting, weight-lifting, working on antique cars with his dad and paa-paa, hanging out with his friends and spending time with his family, especially his cousins. His cousins admired and looked up to him in the highest.

Since his accident, my husband and I adopted the stretch of highway where the accident took place. Our goal is to promote public safety in that area as well as keeping the highway litter free in memory of John Ray.

As written on his gravestone, “We love you, we miss you, we’ll see you soon.” John Ray is sadly missed by his father, sister, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and MANY special friends.
