Corporal Cusack was on duty in Lancaster County on March 27, 2010 when his patrol vehicle went off roadway. The collision occurred on S.C. 200, southwest of Lancaster. He died as a result of his injuries. Corporal Cusack was a twenty year veteran of the Highway Patrol and was a native of Florence County.
